Position: Property Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including variance analysis and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and general ledger balances.
• Ensure accurate and timely posting of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audits.
• Liaise with property managers, tenants, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.

Skills and Experience:

• Accounting Expertise: Demonstrated experience in property or real estate accounting with a strong grasp of full-cycle accounting processes.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or similar systems preferred) and strong Excel capabilities.
• Communication: Clear and effective communicator, capable of collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within property management or real estate accounting.
• Education: CPA designation is a must and a post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Extra Consideration will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Property Management, Real Estate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Yardi/MRI, Multi-Property Portfolios, Commercial & Residential Property Operations.
