Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada is seeking a Project Technical Manager, Process Engineering to lead a group of process engineers on the CANDU MONARK project. You will oversee design and execution of process engineering from basics to detailed design, interfacing with stakeholders.

The role requires a P.Eng in Ontario, 10+ years of experience, leadership in large EPC settings, and CNSC regulatory interface experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science from an accredited university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligible within six months of hire.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience on refurbishment and/or new build projects, large EPC environments, preferably nuclear/CANDU.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Regulatory interface experience with CNSC, including registrations, code classifications, compliance documentation.
  • Strong process system design engineering with CSA N285.0 and ASME Section III knowledge.
  • Willing to travel to sites including Mississauga head office or Pickering Parkway Office.
  • Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment.

The Technical Manager oversees the execution of design and technical activities in accordance with industry standards and established governance. The Technical Manager will report functionally to the Technical Director, Process and Equipment Engineering.

Your role
  • Lead process engineering scopes from basic engineering to detailed design.
  • Manage and develop a team of process engineering professionals.
  • Plan and execute work to meet quality, cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee process engineering activities for nuclear power plant design.
  • Coordinating the design interface between the Nuclear Steam Plant (NSP) and Balance of Plant (BOP) portions of a nuclear power plant.
  • Providing technical guidance to staff, as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering, quality assurance, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support resource forecasting, issue resolution, and risk mitigation to maintain safety, quality, and delivery.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science from an accredited University, with at least 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible within six (6) months of hire.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience on refurbishment and/or new build projects, including large-scale EPC environments, preferably with nuclear and/or CANDU technology experience.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, demonstrating strong directional leadership in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven regulatory interface experience with CNSC, including registrations, code classifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong process system design engineering expertise with working knowledge of nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and ASME Section III.
  • Proven track record of performance in a multidiscipline, dynamic, project delivery environment.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Willing to travel to and potentially work at sites to meet business needs, inclusive of project (construction) site, pre-assembly/module fabrication yards, and equipment/component suppliers. (Note: the initial site location is at the Mississauga head office or the Pickering Parkway Office in Ontario).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment.
