Qualifications

  • 1-3 Jahre Erfahrung im technischen oder Projektmanagement.
  • Kenntnisse in der Entwicklung von Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Erfahrung in der Koordination mit multidisziplinären Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Unterstützung bei der Verwaltung des gesamten Projektlebenszyklus.
  • Durchführung von Projektüberwachungs- und Kontrollaktivitäten.
  • Erstellung regelmäßiger Berichte über den Fortschritt der Projekte.

Job description

The Opportunity:

BluMetric is currently seeking a Project Specialist, with experience in the Defence or product development industry, to join our Project Management Office (PMO), based in the Carp, Ontario office. This entry-level position will work in support of Project Managers and Technical Experts to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and be accountable for small or low complexity projects. The role will require planning, executing, monitoring and controlling projects and tasks on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications and/or work plans. The ideal candidate will be a present self starter with strong communication and time management skills, an interest in relationship building, and a willingness to learn. The position will require onsite work with periods of full time onsite or remote site work.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of the entire lifecycle of projects across BluMetric’s project portfolio.
  • Support project proposal initiatives through collaboration with technical teams.
  • Support procurement, production, and testing activities including direct involvement in production, test, and/or on-site commissioning work.
  • Conduct project monitoring and controlling activities including monthly budgeting, invoicing, baseline management, and scheduling;
  • Support management of new and ongoing product production both serial and custom builds;
  • Support or lead change management initiatives including internal and external change order execution.
  • Support risk management activities and help create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Adhere to established methodologies for project management.
  • Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) on the progress of projects; deliver these reports during regular stakeholder meetings.
  • Track project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
  • Identify and escalate conflicts within project teams and associated work.
  • Manage project dependencies.
  • Partake-in or lead continual learning initiatives including project lessons learned to identify opportunities for improvement; make recommendations based on findings.

Qualifications, Education, and Skills:

  • One (1) to three (3) years of technical or project management experience.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geosciences or Environmental Science would be an asset.
  • Experience in defence industry project delivery across the project lifecycle considered an asset.
  • Experience in the development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), scheduling and schedule analysis, cost estimating and cost control, budget development, reporting, and record/ document control.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes related to water treatment and water management systems, relevant to federal, provincial/state, or local projects is considered an asset.
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including partner management considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract administration processes (RFQs, RFPs, vendor coordination) is considered an asset.
  • Security clearance (or ability to achieve) required;
  • Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) compliance required;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. MS Office suite of tools, Word, Excel, and project scheduling tools.
  • Bilingualism in English and French would be an asset.
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
