Job summary

Region of Peel is seeking a Project Manager for Environmental Assessment and Studies in Brampton. The role leads municipal environmental assessments for water and wastewater capital projects, coordinating internal staff and external consultants while ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

You will prepare charter documents, manage tenders, and develop communication plans with stakeholders, including agencies and the public.

Qualifications

• University/College degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with minimum 5 years relevant experience.
• P.Eng designation preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure and related systems.
• Able to interpret technical data and engineering drawings.
• Experience in project scope, financials, and managing consultants.
• Ability to coordinate with approvals, stakeholders, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Municipal Class Environmental Assessments for water and wastewater projects.
• Oversee risk assessments and asset prioritization for infrastructure.
• Form and guide project teams from internal and external partners.
• Prepare charters, scopes, and deliverables for projects.
• Develop RFPs/RFTs/RFQs and tender documentation.
• Monitor financials and manage scope to minimize risk and delays.
• Supervise consultants and contractors to ensure quality.
• Develop and execute stakeholder communication plans.
