We help organizations operate, secure, and modernize complex environments by unifying infrastructure, networking, data, security, automation, and observability under a single, integrated operating model. Our work focuses on helping customers reduce operational friction, improve resilience, and make better, faster decisions as their environments evolve. Arctiq builds on decades of industry expertise and a customer-centric ethos to deliver exceptional value to clients across diverse industries.

This is a contract opportunity with one of Arctiq's clients. It is a requirement to be onsite Monday-Friday in North Vancouver, BC.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will lead strategic roadmap projects and other unplanned initiatives, ensuring accountability from inception to completion. The position involves managing complex technical projects and requires a thorough understanding of system implementation principles, along with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of seniority.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled project manager with strong, demonstrable critical thinking, a proven ability to own and deliver outcomes, and expertise across the full project lifecycle, ideally within complex, integrated technology environments. They must be an exceptional communicator who can tell a clear, cohesive story of project progress, risks, and outcomes to diverse stakeholders, and be able to demonstrate how they have coached and matured project delivery teams. This role requires strong business and technical acumen, practical experience applying hybrid-Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and meticulous attention to detail with consistent follow-through.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all phases of project management—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure—ensuring alignment with organizational objectives; support RFx processes as needed.
  • Apply appropriate project management methodologies based on project requirements, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to change.
  • Establish clear performance indicators for project success, ensuring team members understand their responsibilities and deliverables; provide critical analysis of project scope to clarify objectives, reduce delivery risk, and prevent scope creep.
  • Implement regular check‑ins and status updates, making adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Promote a culture of accountability within the project team, encouraging ownership of tasks and outcomes.
  • Oversee the implementation of IT systems, engaging other teams for servers, networks, architecture, and cloud services; provide guidance and support from inception through rollout.
  • Work closely with operations teams to support documentation for handover once projects exit hypercare.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices in project management and delivery.
  • Collaborate with other IT streams to respond to incidents, investigate root causes, and implement corrective measures, providing technical guidance and facilitating stakeholder communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, IT staff, and external partners, to ensure alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support development and execution of communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and changes.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential challenges to project success, and develop proactive mitigation plans.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving project‑related issues, applying strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring delivery within financial constraints; perform cost‑benefit analyses to evaluate feasibility and prioritize resources.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members, fostering professional development and team performance.
  • Identify and allocate necessary resources, ensuring the team has the tools and support needed to succeed.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including charters, status reports, and lessons learned.
  • Consolidate project data to support portfolio‑level reporting on performance, resource utilization, financials, and governance priorities.
  • Conduct post‑implementation reviews to evaluate project performance and inform future projects.
  • Define measurable project benefits and success criteria, support benefit‑realization tracking, and report outcomes at project close‑out.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices within the team.
  • Contribute to training and professional development initiatives that enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, CSM, PgMP) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on leading complex projects.
  • Very strong understanding of hybrid-Agile approaches, Waterfall delivery, and Scrum methodology required.
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure components, networking principles, and cybersecurity concepts is advantageous.
  • Experience with a mix of on‑prem and cloud technology implementations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing medium- and large-scale projects in both stand‑alone and integrated technology environments.
  • Ability to construct slide decks and present project messaging effectively, with strong verbal communication and audience-appropriate delivery.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
