Job summary

Arctiq is seeking a highly skilled Network Analyst to support on-site LAN/WAN infrastructure in Saskatchewan, Canada. The role emphasizes enterprise-grade design, implementation, and ongoing enhancements for both corporate and SCADA networks.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and architecture, with strong Cisco and Fortinet expertise, and familiarity with Azure, OCI, and cloud networking concepts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of hands-on network administration, analysis, and design/architecture.
  • Experience with Spine and Leaf data center networks using VXLAN with BGP EVPN.
  • Experience designing and maintaining routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
  • Hands-on Cisco networking equipment including switches/routers; familiarity with IOS/IOS-XE/NX-OS interfaces.
  • Experience with Fortinet suite (firewalls, switches, APs) and FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer/FortiNAC.
  • Experience configuring Azure virtual networks, peering, route tables, Front Door, WAF, NSGs.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Exposure to load balancers and Web Application Firewalls.
  • Strong network security practices and enterprise-grade design principles.
  • Experience delivering network solutions in large org projects.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of on-premises to cloud integration and SCADA networks.
  • Experience with LTE and satellite comms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and Change Management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network with thorough documentation.
  • Develop strategic plans for network device evolution aligned with business needs and industry benchmarks.
  • Provide expert-level admin, engineering, and support for client network devices.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance and ensure high availability.
  • Manage disaster recovery planning, testing, and maintenance for network assets.
  • Engage with corporate and field staff to address technology concerns and escalate issues.
  • Apply network equipment updates per company protocols for security and functionality.
  • Maintain change control, problem management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Stay current with networking technologies and certifications to maintain expertise.
  • Lead and participate in team meetings, driving collaborative outcomes.
  • Collaborate across teams to develop scalable network solutions.
  • Represent Digital Technology & Security in line with department goals.

This is a contract opportunity with one of Arctiq's clients. It is a requirement to be onsite Monday-Friday in Saskatchewan, Canada.

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Analyst for our client. The individual selected for this role will be instrumental in the operational administration and implementation of the LAN/WAN infrastructure, which is vital for supporting both corporate and SCADA networks. The candidate will collaborate with the team to ensure network infrastructure is configured and implemented according to the latest industry and security best practices.

This position requires a professional with a minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and design/architecture. The role is not only focused on day-to-day operational network administration but also significantly contributes to the ongoing enhancement, architectural design, planning, and implementation initiatives within the client’s network infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network to ensure its continuous and efficient operation, complete with thorough documentation
  • Develop strategic plans for network device evolution, aligning with both current and future business needs and industry benchmarks
  • Provide expert-level technical support, administration, and engineering for all client network devices to guarantee their optimal performance
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, swiftly troubleshoot and resolve any system issues to ensure high availability and reliability
  • Manage network disaster recovery processes, including meticulous planning, implementation, maintenance, and comprehensive testing
  • Engage with corporate and field employees, promptly addressing technology concerns and escalating complex issues as needed
  • Implement network equipment updates in accordance with established company protocols to ensure ongoing security and functionality
  • Maintain system integrity through effective change control, problem management procedures, and consistent communication with internal stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies, certifications, and industry developments to maintain a high level of expertise and adaptability
  • Contribute to departmental goals by organizing and overseeing work processes and fostering effective teamwork
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in the execution of role responsibilities
  • Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and expertise to drive collective success
  • Collaborate across diverse teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions
  • Represent Digital Technology & Security with a commitment to the department's strategic goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and design/architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and maintaining various routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF
  • Comprehensive hands-on experience with Cisco's suite of networking equipment, including switches and routers; proficiency extends to working with various Cisco CLI interfaces, encompassing IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS, ensuring comprehensive configuration and administration across multiple Cisco platforms
  • Comprehensive hands-on experience with Fortinet's suite of networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, and access points
  • Comprehensive hands-on experience with Fortinet security tools including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiNAC
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and maintaining network resources in Microsoft Azure including virtual networks, virtual network peering, route tables, Front Door, WAF and network security groups
  • Additional expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Skilled in the configuration and management of load balancers and web application firewalls
  • A deep understanding and implementation of network security best practices
  • A proven track record in deploying network technologies within organizational technology projects
  • Excellent collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary project teams
  • A thorough understanding of enterprise-level networks and the integration of on-premises and cloud environments
  • Additional experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes
  • Relevant experience in operating supervisory controls and data acquisition (SCADA) networks
  • Relevant job experience in North America with a provincial government, Crown or Oil & Gas Transmission company, or equivalent
