Qualifications

• Progressive construction project management experience is required.
• Strong leadership and relationship-management abilities.
• Experience with tenant improvements or commercial construction is preferred.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety.
• Proficiency with procore or similar construction software.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of tenant improvement projects from pre-construction to close-out.
• Develop and maintain scopes, budgets, and master schedules.
• Review drawings, specs, permits, contracts to identify requirements.
• Tender and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements.
• Lead project communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities.
• Monitor costs, schedules, change orders, and forecasts with timely reporting.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other docs.
• Drive issue resolution and coordinate construction activities to maintain momentum.
• Lead project close-out including deficiencies, occupancy, warranties, and turnover.

VPAC is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic Tenant Improvements team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project management from pre-construction through project close-out, ensuring that every project is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

You are

• A collaborative and trusted leader who builds strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, civic officials, and internal teams.

You will

• Lead the day-to-day management of tenant improvement and construction projects from pre-construction through project close-out.
• Develop and maintain project scopes, budgets, schedules, and master schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within established financial and contractual requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, permits, contracts, and project documentation to identify scope, schedule, cost, and coordination requirements.
• Tender, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements while maintaining strong trade relationships and ensuring contractual compliance.
• Lead project communication and coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, corporate teams, and municipal authorities.
• Monitor project costs, schedules, progress claims, change orders, delays, and forecasts, providing accurate reporting and timely escalation of significant issues.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, site instructions, and other project documentation while ensuring current construction documents are maintained.
• Drive timely issue resolution, expedite trades and suppliers, and coordinate construction activities to maintain project momentum.
• Lead project close-out, including deficiencies, substantial completion, occupancy requirements, warranties, and turnover documentation.
• Maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction, safety, quality, financial performance, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

You have

• 5–8+ years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably within tenant improvements, commercial construction, or related construction environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative construction environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client relationships.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain project budgets, cost reports, forecasts, progress claims, change orders, and financial projections.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, permits, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contract documentation.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project or similar scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC requirements and construction site safety practices.
