Job description

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple cross-functional projects related to stakeholder engagement and issues management within their Sustainability team. The focus is on delivery and operational excellence: the successful candidate will plan, coordinate and drive execution across initiatives of varying complexity, priority and risk to deliver outcomes on time and on budget. While sustainability domain knowledge is helpful, the priority is strong project and operational management experience - preferably within enterprise or matrixed retail/apparel organizations.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and execute comprehensive project plans for a portfolio of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Act as the primary liaison for project teams and stakeholders, establishing clear timelines, leading meetings, managing documents, and creating progress dashboards.
  • Manage project scope, schedule and budget; identify and implement mitigation strategies for risks and issues to keep projects on track.
  • Monitor and report progress against timelines, milestones and deliverables to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Proactively adapt project plans, schedules and targets in response to changing requirements or financing.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed environment and ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities.
Required qualifications & skills
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project management, business analysis, change management and/or management consulting.
  • Strong command of project lifecycle methodologies and hands-on project delivery.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Strong presentation, communication and facilitation skills - comfortable engaging diverse audiences including executives.
  • Proven ability to operate calmly under pressure and to move work forward in fast-changing environments.
  • Experience working in enterprise/matrixed companies preferred (corporate experience preferred over smaller company background).
  • Demonstrated operational expertise and practical problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, intellectually curious, and with a sense of humor.
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience or knowledge of the retail/apparel industry and brand experience is preferred but not required.
