Job summary

Associated Engineering Group in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Roadways to lead transportation projects for public and private sector clients. You will manage design development, budgets, schedules, and client communications while fostering a collaborative team environment.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, PEng with Alberta boards (or eligible), and 8+ years in transportation. Travel within Alberta and a hybrid work arrangement are available.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer with APEGA or eligible (or with ASET).
  • 8+ years of progressive Civil Engineering experience in transportation.
  • Experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is required.
  • Demonstrated project management and business development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership for designs, cost estimates, specs, and contract documents.
  • Lead scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration and inspection.
  • Advance projects through concept, design, and construction phases; manage clients and develop new ones.
  • Deliver projects on budget and schedule.
  • Act as primary client contact for project communications.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams on major transportation projects.
  • Mentor engineers and technologists within the team.
  • Collaborate across offices and disciplines to achieve project goals.

What you’ll be doing:



  • Providing project leadership role with a team in the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection.

  • Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases; managing existing clients; and developing new clients.

  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.

  • Acting as the primary contact for all project-related client communications.

  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major transportation projects.

  • Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers and technologists.

  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices.


Does this sound like you?



  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution or a Civil Engineering or Technology diploma from an accredited technical college

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or Registered with ASET (or eligible for registration).

  • For P. Eng. 8+ years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients with a focus on the Transportation sector. For Technologists, 10+ years of experience.

  • Experience working with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is a requirement.

  • Proven project management and business development experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta.
