Job summary

Associated Engineering in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to deliver bridge and culvert projects for municipal clients. The role involves project management, technical support, and guidance to junior staff within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-In-Training with APEGA.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering within the consulting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with a forward-thinking approach to help clients solve problems and develop the team.
  • Provide project management and technical support on transportation projects focused on bridges and culverts for public and private clients.
  • Manage designs for replacement or rehabilitation of standard/major bridges, culverts and pedestrian bridges.
  • Manage teams in the preparation of drawings and contract documents and supporting designs.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Advance projects through planning, concept, design, and construction phases.
  • Prepare technical reports, modelling and design calculations.
  • Collaborate with your team and other disciplines and offices.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing guidance, including mentoring, and instruction, to junior staff.
  • Advancing projects through the planning, concept, design, and construction phases.
  • Preparing technical reports, modelling and design calculations.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices.
Does this sound like you?
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-In-Training with APEGA.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering within the consulting industry.
  • Experience working Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta.
