About The Role

For the initial ramp-up phase of our North American operations, we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced and fast-changing environments. As part of the ramp-up team, you will report to the Senior Manager, Indirect Procurement, and work closely with the local Director, Indirect Procurement; the PowerCo SE team members at Headquarters in Germany; as well as colleagues from the Volkswagen Group in the North American Region to help establish the Procurement division of the new company.

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kick off Procurement sourcing projects above 75,000 CAD, bringing involved stakeholders together to understand scope and objectives, and discuss high-level expectations and timelines.
  • Create RFP timelines for procurement projects, utilizing project management tools, considering processes, timing, resources, and capabilities of all involved stakeholders.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders are identified and engaged at appropriate times throughout the procurement process.
  • Maintain traceability and follow up on milestones, ensuring their completion and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Provide timely visibility of deviations or constraints, driving decision-making and escalations as needed.
  • Create and maintain the Annual Procurement Plan for PowerCo Canada.
  • Advise Business Units on processes, documentation, and contacts at each procurement phase.
  • Ensure successful completion of procurement until supplier legal contracting and operational ramp-up.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to new hires during the ramp-up phase.
  • Report regularly on the status of the Annual Procurement Plan to local and HQ management.
  • Work with management and employees to improve relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Process Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • 5+ years professional experience in Project Management.
  • Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal and external teams.
  • Affinity for numbers and measurable results.
  • Previous experience with SAP procurement.
  • Knowledge of Volkswagen Group Procurement Processes.
  • PMP, CAPM, CSM, or other Project Management certifications are assets.
  • Supportive of change and adaptable.
  • Occasional travel (~10%) within Ontario and internationally.
  • Willingness to perform other tasks as required.
