Description

You are a Project Manager responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Your role includes estimating new projects, developing execution strategies for large powerline construction projects, coordinating resources, implementing project plans and schedules, ensuring safety and quality control, and delegating work to the project team, subcontractors, and others.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project, applying the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) and ensuring compliance with Ledcor HS&E standards, OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes.
  • Lead subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations for complex projects and design-build projects.
  • Manage pursuit estimates, review, and verify costs, and oversee bid package responsibilities.
  • Perform and review quantity takeoffs for large bids.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules to meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Facilitate project meetings with stakeholders to monitor progress.
  • Identify and manage opportunities and risks to meet schedule and financial targets.
  • Track and report on financial aspects, including forecasts and billings.
  • Ensure project quality standards are met through the Project Quality Program.
  • Provide leadership to construction team members, leveraging individual and group strengths to achieve project targets.
Qualifications:
  • 10-15 years of experience managing powerline or similar utility/industrial construction projects.
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in powerline construction.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager or similar supervisory role.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related field is an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
  • Strong negotiation and management skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage project schedules.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proactive stakeholder management.
  • Ability to identify constructability issues and develop solutions.
  • Proven ability to build successful teams and promote teamwork.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
Work Conditions:
  • Remote sites across Western Canada (14 days on, 7 days off).
  • Office-based when not on projects.
