Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or Architecture.
  • Typically 8–10 years of relevant experience (ideally 5 years in Canada).
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD (current versions), Bluebeam, and standard documentation tools.
  • Working knowledge of construction administration processes (RFIs, submittals, site reviews).
  • Solid understanding of building systems, local codes and bylaws, construction methods, and their application/coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead drawing production and coordinate project teams, project management, scheduling, communication, and delivery.
  • Manage project execution and delivery, including schedule, efficiency, resources, and financial performance.
  • Prepare and oversee coordinated construction documents, resolving technical issues and ensuring alignment with design intent.
  • Apply and support office standards, workflows, and best practices to maintain consistency across documentation.
  • Participate in construction-phase services, including review of RFIs, submittals, site documentation, and permit support.
  • Facilitate clear communication between internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders.

Position Summary

This role combines project coordination and technical leadership to support the delivery of architectural projects through all phases, with a strong emphasis oninforming design development,constructiondocumentationand projectexecution.

The Project Manager / Job Captainis responsible forcoordinatinginternal and externalproject teams, leading the development of construction documents, and ensuring that work aligns with the firm’s technical standards and design intent.This rolewill alsosupportinternal quality practices and contribute to consistent documentation, whileparticipatingin construction-phase services as part of the project team.

Working closely with Senior Project Managers, Design Leads, and Production leadership, this role bridges design and technical delivery, ensuring projects are well-coordinated, buildable, and efficiently executed.

  • Prepare and oversee coordinated,accurateconstruction documents, resolving technical issues and ensuring alignment with design intent and building systems.
  • Standards & Quality Alignment
  • Apply and support office standards, workflows, and best practices tomaintainconsistency and quality across project documentation.
  • Champion and implement Quality Assurance processes across multiple projects within the firm.
  • Liaise with municipal and regulatory authorities.
  • Construction Administration Support
  • Participate in construction-phase services, including review of RFIs, submittals, and site documentation, helping ensure alignment with contract documents,field reviews, prepare and issue deficiency reports,assistwith permit and project closeout processes.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Facilitate clear communication between internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders, supportingtimelyresolution of project issues.
  • Team Support & Mentorship
  • Provide guidance to junior staff,assistwith drawing reviews, and contribute to a collaborative and technically strong studio environment.
