Job description

Please note : This position is not rotational shift. This work requires the ability to be mobile / temporarily relocate within the province of Ontario, as work sites and project durations vary. Experience in building / rehabilitating heavy civil transportation infrastructure (often involving water, such as bridges, canals, dams, culverts, cofferdams, and similar) is also required.

Job Summary

The project manager provides leadership to a team of engineers, project coordinators, and site superintendents in the successful planning and execution of medium to large civil construction projects. The project manager is responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget, while maximizing financial returns. Key responsibilities include developing project execution plans, detailed scheduling, budget management, maintaining positive client relationships, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

Management – 50%

  • Ensure projects meet schedules, stay within budget, and meet client expectations with high quality.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, manage project budgets, schedules, and milestones.
  • Coordinate sub-trades, oversee daily operations, and ensure quality control.
  • Develop estimates, manage procurement, and monitor site safety and compliance.
  • Handle change orders and related contractual processes.

Technical – 25%

  • Guide construction methodologies and assist in detailed design and drawings.
  • Develop technical specifications and analyze reports and designs from third parties.
  • Lead environmental management planning and oversee quality assurance programs.

Communication – 25%

  • Represent the company with clients, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Maintain effective communication with management and project teams.
  • Prepare technical documents, progress reports, and maintain relationships with project participants.
