Our client is an experienced General Contractor involved in major infrastructure projects. They are seeking Project Managers and a Superintendent due to growth and recent project wins.

The projects are located throughout Ontario, including out-of-town work (rotational), encompassing municipal and private sector projects. Candidates must have experience with start-to-finish projects related to bridge construction and rehabilitation, grading, concrete, tunnel structures, road work, and other major infrastructure projects valued in the millions of dollars.

Requirements:

• Must have experience with MTO projects, understanding of MTO processes, structure, permits, and related procedures.

Structures, Bridges, Civils & Structures Site Superintendent

Our client, a leading heavy civils and structures main contractor, is recruiting a Site Superintendent to join their Ontario team. The role involves overseeing all heavy civils, structures, bridges (new build & rehab), highways, and MTO projects under the guidance of the Site Project Manager.

The Structures Superintendent will plan, schedule, and manage daily site operations, including the construction and repair of heavy civil engineering projects. Responsibilities include supervising direct labor and subcontractors, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, quality standards, and project budget compliance.

The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery and maintaining communication with senior management, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with MTO build projects and regional connections.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish and monitor construction schedules, including look-ahead schedules.
2. Coordinate subcontractors and lead coordination meetings.
3. Manage contract administration tasks such as RFIs, scope changes, issue logs, NCRs, deficiencies, and documentation.
4. Mobilize resources to achieve project goals safely and effectively.
5. Maintain site records, diaries, and detailed logs of site events.
6. Manage materials and equipment inventory, ensuring safety and calibration standards.
7. Prepare project reports and ensure compliance with contract and legal requirements.
8. Supervise and allocate work to assistant superintendents and foremen.
9. Conduct employee performance reviews, training, and corrective actions.
10. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws and environmental standards.
11. Keep the Construction and Project Managers informed of project developments.
12. Assist with bid processes as needed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Trades qualification or Degree/Diploma in a related field.
• Minimum years of experience in similar roles on major civil engineering projects.
• Experience with design-build projects, bridges, tunnels, highways, and MTO projects.
