Interior Health is looking for an experienced Project Manager, Digital Health to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $90,770 (min) to $113,462 (midpoint) to $130,481 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job:

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Project Manager, Digital Health (Project Manager) leads projects for large corporate-wide change initiatives, and provincial clinical and business electronic systems and infrastructure. The Project Manager is responsible to leverage various project management methodologies (e.g. predictive, disciplined agile, scrum, lean, kanban).

The Project Manager is responsible to maintain a continuous cycle of project planning, execution, and monitoring within Interior Health (IH) project management standards as set by the Project Management Office (PMO). The Project Manager oversees assigned project resources, develops project plans, and ensures the delivery and acceptance of project end products for sign-off by the business areas.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

• Develops essential project documents (charters, schedules, end-product specifications, etc.) with, or on behalf of, the project sponsor.
• Directs all activities related to the project. Guides and mentors team members.
• Executes, monitors, controls and reports on all milestones, deliverables and activities related to the project.
• Prepares and manages project operational and capital budgets to a defined budget baseline, regularly communicating with portfolio finance lead on quarterly and period variances.
• Develops and fosters relationships with key internal and external partners (e.g. IH leadership groups, other health authorities, provincial partners, suppliers) to address issues related to the project.
• Develops, implements, and monitors standards for service and performance; evaluates and effects changes as needed to improve services, simplify workflow, and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manages the process of change in all projects affected areas across IH.
• Manages procurement activities, within the provincial procurement framework, including engagement with software/hardware vendors and other external service providers to negotiate contract terms and pricing and resolve complex and/or tentative service issues.
• Aligns to PMO guidance and maintain project management best practice and demonstrates and ongoing commitment to expand personal project management competencies, while supporting the continual improvement of collective standards delivered through the PMO.
• When requested by the PMO, acts in a consultative capacity to provide expert advice to other project managers.
• Responsible for supporting project staffing functions including daily assignment, assisting leaders with recruitment, hiring, ongoing development, performance management, and performance evaluation including disciplinary action and termination as required.
• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualfications

Education, Training, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in the project management of complex, multi-site, multi-disciplined information systems.
• Professional Project Manager (PMP) designation or equivalent.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
