Job summary

Pomerleau, a national leader in construction, is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Montreal to lead large-scale civil and infrastructure projects ranging from millions to over $1B. You will collaborate with client groups and subcontractors, guiding project teams to success.

The role emphasizes leadership, financial discipline, risk management, and a commitment to health, safety and quality. You will mentor colleagues, manage schedules and budgets, and report on project progress.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience in construction.
• Engineering degree or engineering diploma or equivalent experience.
• Professional fluency in French.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid knowledge of construction methods, financial management, and codes.
• Champion of quality and health and safety best practices.

Responsibilities

• Grow and maintain relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients.
• Support PM teams to develop and drive the construction schedule to meet milestones.
• Apply financial management to plan and control budgets and purchases.
• Share knowledge and mentor project team members.
• Lead risk management to minimize project risk.
• Compile and complete company-wide project reports.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection.

As a Senior Project Manager within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure division, you will play a key role at the heart of the Structures business unit. By leading large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will work closely with our client groups and subcontractors, acting as an integral part of our project team.

What You Will Do

• Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
• Support your project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule ensuring completion dates and milestones are met.
• Apply financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing.
• Share knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members.
• Be an expert in risk management to ensure any associated project risk is minimized.
• Take pride in compiling and completing companywide project reports.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Project Management in the construction industry.
• University degree/technology diploma in engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Master the French language at a professional level.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational prowess, influential abilities, and adept problem‑solving, ensuring project success amidst diverse challenges.
• Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation.
• Be a champion and role model for quality and all health and safety best practices.
