Our Toronto office is looking for a Civil Engineer to join as a Project Manager (rail) for our downtown team. The role involves civil design for Rail projects (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars).
What will your duties be?
- Assist Design Manager with development of construction documents for Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel Project
- Monitor design schedules, track deliverables, and prepare look-ahead schedules
- Assist discipline leads with design issues, RFIs, and coordination
- Manage subconsultant agreements, deliverables, and invoicing
- Track project costs related to design hours and estimates
- Coordinate design solutions across disciplines, chair meetings, and track deliverables
- Work with BIM and CAD teams to develop drawings and documents
- Monitor and manage design interfaces with internal teams, clients, and third parties
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Participate in change management and issues resolution
- Liaise with document control and ensure procedures are followed
- Review design quality and performance
- Attend meetings, record minutes, and ensure adherence to standards
- Research design standards and literature to support decisions
What do you need to fit the position?
- 12-15 years of civil engineering experience, including alignment, familiar with Ontario standards
- Experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager (mandatory)
- P.Eng. license in Ontario (mandatory)
- Experience in detailed design coordination
- PMP training (asset)
- Legally able to work in Toronto area
- Proficiency with Inroads or Power Rail Track (mandatory)
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to develop plans, specifications, and calculations independently
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and work in a team
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
