Job summary

CANA Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead assigned construction projects in Alberta, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality targets are met. You will coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma with relevant construction management focus.
  • Progressive construction PM experience with increasing project size.
  • Strong communication and documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction of assigned projects, managing cost, schedule and quality.
  • Negotiate subcontracts and liaise with owners, engineers and trades.
  • Represent CANA with consultants and the Owner, upholding CANA’s image.

Are you an experienced Project Manager with 5 to 30 years of project experience, in a general contractor role, looking to join an established company where processes and protocols are in place, and the corporate structure allows nimbleness and adaptability.

The Role

This position is responsible for providing overall direction of assigned projects and responsibility for the overall project performance including costs, schedule and quality assurance. This position involves subcontract negotiations, liaison with owners, engineers, and sub-trades, and management of the technical and financial aspects of the contract. You will be the front-line CANA contact with consultants and the Owner and will be responsible for promoting and projecting the CANA image of efficiency, quality, technical competence and fair management of trades and suppliers.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architectural Technology. (Equivalencies will be considered)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the construction industry as a Project Manager with progressive responsibility in the size and scope of projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
