Job summary

CANA Construction in Calgary is seeking a Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team and uphold our safety program while delivering high-quality work. You will read blueprints, fabricate forms, and install concrete structures on site.

Responsibilities include erecting columns, slabs, stairs, and related formwork systems (Peri, Doka), plus operating tools safely. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and maintain strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold Canadian Journeyman Carpentry Certificate.
• Experience with wall and slab formwork systems (Peri, Doka).
• Valid Driver’s License or transportation to sites.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced team environments.
• Knowledge of OH&S regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, fabricate and install concrete forms per site requirements and scope.
• Construct and erect columns and cores; suspended slabs and stairs.
• Operate hand tools and power tools; ensure safe use.
• Install heating/hoarding, temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails and barriers.
• Erect scaffold and related supports as needed.
• Read blueprints or follow supervision instructions.
• Prepare layout by selecting materials and planning sequences.
• Maintain clean work areas and minimize hazards.
• Perform other duties as required on job sites.
• Role involves physically demanding motions and outdoor work in all seasons.

THE ROLE

As theJourneyperson Carpenter you are expected to be engaged in our safety program,executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and allapplicable code regulations and the Act.

• Construct,fabricate and installconcrete forms in accordance with site specificrequirements and job scope.
• Constructand erect columns and cores; suspended slabs; and stairs.
• Operatehand tools, power actuated tools as required to perform tasks includinginspecting and ensuring proper safe use.
• Installheating/hoarding, temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails and barriers asrequired.
• Erectscaffold and related support as necessary.
• ReadBlueprints and/or getting instructions from supervision.
• Preparelayout including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work.
• Ensurework areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
• Othertasks and duties as required on the jobsite.
• The position requiresphysically demanding motions and tasks
• Candidates are required to be in good physicalcondition, fit for work and prepared to work on project sites outside in allseasons and weather

WHAT YOU BRING

• CanadianJourneyman Carpentry Certificate and competent in the Carpentry Trade
• Experienceworking with wall and slab formwork systems such as Peri and Doka
• Valid Driver’s License or means oftransportation to project sites.
• Strongcommunication and problem-solving skills
• Abilityto thrive in a fast-paced environment while working as part of a team
• A good understanding and/or ability to findinformation as needed in the OH&S regulations.
