Job summary

EllisDon Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate for a role in pre-construction and field execution on self-performing heavy civil projects in Ontario. You will analyze plans, control documents, and help coordinate RFIs and submittals to keep projects on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years of heavy civil experience, with concrete structures and formwork expertise, and is willing to travel and work in remote Ontario locations. A construction-related degree is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction or equivalent field.
  • 4–7 years of construction experience on self-performing heavy civil projects (bridges & culverts).
  • Experience with concrete structures and formwork is essential.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in plan and specification analysis to provide clear interpretations of drawings.
  • Manage document control, RFIs, submittals, and expediting list.
  • Develop and monitor construction schedule to meet project deadlines and budget.
  • Collaborate with site team to maintain open communication and project success.
  • Provide mentorship to fellow colleagues on site.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction
  • Understand and perform document control functions, including tracking and creating of RFIs, transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements and maintain project expediting list
  • Develop, implement and monitor the construction schedule to deliver the project on time and under budget
  • Work in conjunction with site team to create and maintain an environment of open communication and collaboration to ensure individual and project success
  • Provide mentorship to fellow colleagues on site
Requirements
  • You have a construction related degree and four to seven years of construction experience working on self-performing heavy civil projects including bridges and culverts.
  • Experience in concrete structures and formwork is essential.
  • You have a working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software.
  • A willingness to travel to, live and work in remote locations throughout Ontario is essential.

The salary range for this job is $70,000 - $90,000.
