The role requires senior-level governance, stakeholder management, and end-to-end delivery across multiple initiatives. Focus Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic IT initiatives within a highly collaborative, governance-focused public sector environment.

Initial Contract: 2 years (with potential extension for two additional 2-year terms and/or up to completion of the project)

Role Overview

The Project Manager will lead strategic IT projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure.

The successful candidate will own delivery across scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholders while ensuring alignment with organizational policies, standards, governance requirements and strategic objectives.

Projects may include business transformation, application development and modernization, cloud solutions, infrastructure and technology upgrades, cybersecurity, data and analytics, and digital services.

• Secure required project-plan and stage-gate approvals

Required Skills & Experience

• Senior‑level project management experience delivering complex IT initiatives through the full project lifecycle
• Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder expectations
• Experience establishing and facilitating governance structures, including executive steering committees, stage‑gate approvals, audit requirements and formal project controls
• Government, public sector or similarly governed environment experience
• Experience working across multiple ministries or business areas
• Experience with business transformation, application development/modernization, cloud, infrastructure/technology upgrades, cybersecurity, data/analytics or digital‑service initiatives
• Organizational change management experience, including stakeholder engagement, communications, impact/readiness assessments, training and adoption planning
• Strong executive communication, reporting, facilitation, negotiation, relationship management and stakeholder‑engagement skills
• Experience working across executive, business, technical, procurement and vendor groups
• Demonstrated use of established project management methodologies, standards, processes and documentation aligned with PMI best practices
