Reporting to the Regional Director, Saskatchewan, the Project Manager will lead the execution of industrial projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. They will oversee project planning, scheduling, procurement, and contract management, while managing teams and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The role involves proactively identifying and mitigating risks, maintaining a focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance, and driving continuous improvement in project delivery.

This position will be based out of the office Regina, Saskatchewan.

What You Will Be Working On

  1. Oversee the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning to execution and close-out, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  2. Develop and implement strategic project plans, aligning with owner expectations and company objectives.
  3. Lead pre-construction activities, including estimating, value engineering, procurement, and scheduling to ensure seamless project execution.
  4. Manage the tendering process, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  5. Track project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls, proactively mitigating risks and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance, maintaining a commitment to a zero-incident culture.
  7. Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers, fostering strong partnerships and effective communication.
  8. Identify, address, and resolve project challenges proactively, adapting to evolving project demands with a solutions-oriented approach.
  9. Facilitate constructability reviews, risk assessments, and scheduling sessions, ensuring projects are optimized for efficiency.
  10. Ensure accurate and timely contract administration, including pricing change orders, tracking RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and maintaining documentation.
  11. Lead project team meetings, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and alignment with project objectives.
  12. Mentor, coach, and support direct reports, ensuring professional growth and team success.
  13. Maintain a high level of morale and engagement among the project team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
What We Are Looking For

  1. Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within industrial construction.
  3. Estimating experience would be an asset.
  4. Proven ability to successfully deliver industrial projects.
  5. Experience in joint venture projects and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  6. Strong expertise in cost control, scheduling, and risk management, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  7. Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  8. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  9. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
  10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  11. Commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality, aligning with Bird Construction’s high standards.
