Job summary

Allmar-Inc. in Alberta is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation across construction projects. You will monitor progress, manage change orders, and communicate with stakeholders while aligning with the company’s mission and values.

Strong communication, negotiation, and architectural/engineering background are required; bilingual English/French is advantageous; travel to sites is expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate detailing of materials and ensure accurate submittal packages
• Suggest alternate products based on knowledge of products
• Order/sourcing/material itemization aligned with contractor schedules
• Direct and manage on-time scheduling/shipping/install of materials
• Coordinate with accounting for prompt billings and change orders
• Conduct postmortems to identify best practices and improve processes
• Manage contract profitability via value-add changes and change orders
• Provide exceptional customer service and build industry relationships
• Communicate with general contractors and issue timely change orders; visit sites
• Resolve disputes with contractors through inspection and discussion

Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

JOB SUMMARY

Project managers are responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and designate resources, compare estimated budget to ongoing budget, monitor progress, and keep team members and customers informed throughout the project life cycle. This is all done within the confines of the company's Mission, Vision and Values.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties :

• Complete or coordinate detailing of materials for project; ensure accurate submittal package and production worksheets are produced


• Suggest alternate products for projects based on your extensive knowledge of products


• Complete or coordinate accurate ordering/sourcing/itemizing of materials for project in a timely manner; be aware of general contractor’s schedule and achieve lowest cost freight


• Direct and Manage on-time scheduling/shipping/install of materials for project; outsource outbound freight and install as required


• Coordinate with accounting to ensure prompt billings and ensure accuracy with contract and change orders issued; assist in collections by communicating with general contractors and resolving issues


• Conduct project postmortems and identify successful and unsuccessful processes within the project.


• Manage the sales contract for maximum profit by value-add selling of product alternates, processing change orders, rectifying deficiencies promptly, etc.


• Provide exceptional customer service; build relationships with industry members


• Communicate with general contractor and respond to changes on the project in a timely manner by issuing change orders promptly; regular site visits to active construction sites


• Ensure that disputes with contractors are resolved promptly through inspection, discussion, and decision making


• Other Duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Must have strong written and verbal skills in both English and French


• University degree or college diploma in related field or equivalent work - related experience


• Project Management or Architectural Engineering certificate or 2-3 years’ related experience


• Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

WORK CONDITIONS

• Sitting for extended periods of time


• Travel to visit customers, construction sites, attend site meetings, measuring openings, consulting on site conditions.
