A leading project management consultancy in Ontario is seeking a Project Manager to oversee a strategic symposium for defense and security leaders. The role requires extensive experience in project management within the defense sector, including strategic policy development, providing senior-level advice, and leading the professional development of senior leaders. Candidates must have secret level clearance and a minimum of 20 years in defense. This is an onsite position in Ottawa for a duration of 2 years.
Job Description: The client has been designated by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to design, plan, deliver and report on the annual Symposium. The JOS brings together senior defence and security leaders, practitioners, academics and other experts to address major operational challenges faced by the client and the broader defence team.
The targeted in-person audience are current and future senior leaders such as Government of Canada (GOC) Ministers, Deputy‑Ministers, CAF Level 0-2 commanders and directors‑general, defence industry representatives, allies and academia from across the broader national defence and security enterprise. The audience also includes unlimited national and international multi‑level virtual participation from across the national security sector.
On behalf of Director‑General Readiness, the Director Joint Readiness (DJR) is responsible for the coordination, synchronization, administration, delivery and reporting of the JOS on behalf of the Commander CJOC.
