Job summary

Airex Energy in Laval, Quebec, seeks an experienced Project Coordinator/Manager to oversee engineering, industrial manufacturing and plant setup projects.

Serve as the liaison between internal teams and external partners, track timelines and budgets, coordinate suppliers, and ensure schedules, costs and quality meet project goals.

The candidate should hold an engineering degree (or equivalent experience), PMP certification, 8–10 years in similar roles, and fluency in French with working English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; equivalent professional experience.
• PMP certification or recognized project management certification.
• Member of OIQ or eligible to practice in Quebec (asset).
• 8–10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or equipment fabrication.
• Fluency in French; functional English for communication with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Monitor suppliers, subcontractors, and external partners; identify discrepancies and elevate when necessary.

The manager coordinates and oversees technical and industrial projects—spanning design, manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning, depending on the project’s nature. They act as a liaison between the client and the engineering team, ensuring projects are completed in compliance with schedules, technical requirements, budgets, and quality standards.

The role requires a solid understanding of manufacturing and industrial production environments. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and hands-on, with the ability to bridge the gap between engineering concepts and their practical implementation.

External Clients and Partners

• Serve as the point of contact between internal teams and all external partners to coordinate activities and communications;
• Monitor activities involving suppliers, subcontractors, and external partners;
• Identify discrepancies or issues and elevate them when necessary;
• Maintain professional and effective communication.

Project Coordination

• Participate in the planning and execution of engineering, industrial manufacturing, and plant setup projects;
• Track project timelines, deliverables, and key milestones;
• Coordinate activities among various internal and external stakeholders;
• Keep project tracking tools, schedules, and action item lists up to date;
• Participate in project meetings and follow up on actions and decisions;
• Collaborate on the preparation of plans and budget estimates;
• Contribute to preparing progress reports and communicating project status;
• Participate in site visits and field surveys;
• Handle inquiries and change requests;
• Document lessons learned and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience;
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or a recognized project management certification;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible to practice the profession in Quebec (an asset);
• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in a similar role;
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or equipment fabrication environment;
• Experience coordinating suppliers or external partners (an asset);
• Good knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes;
• Fluency in French (spoken and written);
• Functional knowledge of English for communicating with external partners.
