A leading consulting group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead physical security projects in high-risk environments. Candidates should have extensive project management experience, particularly in utility or regulated sectors, with a strong focus on safety protocols. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence and offers opportunities for project extension.

Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid – Minimum 2 days per week onsite)
Duration: 1 Year (Potential for extension)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of physical security design and construction projects across operational and high-risk infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end project execution for systems such as surveillance cameras, perimeter fencing, gates, access control, and intrusion detection—often within energized sites such as substations or facilities with live electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and manage physical security projects from initiation through close-out.
Develop comprehensive project documentation including scopes of work, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and stakeholder communication plans.
Lead cross-functional coordination with engineering, operations, construction, and procurement teams.
Ensure safe project execution within energized and operational environments, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Engage and communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders through meetings, reports, and presentations.
Monitor project performance and proactively address risks and issues.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 9 years of project management experience.
At least 5 years of project experience in utility, industrial, or similarly regulated environments.
Demonstrated experience delivering physical security or related infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to manage projects in energized or live operating environments.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Assets:
Background in civil or structural engineering.
PMP certification.
Familiarity with utility project lifecycles and processes.
Experience managing multiple concurrent capital or security projects with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment:
Hybrid role based in Burnaby, BC – Minimum two (2) days per week in the office.
Site visits may be required depending on project needs.
