Qualifications

Accountabilities : How You Will Make an Impact

  • Development of task order quotation and or full-length proposals
  • Prepare project design plan and project schedule incorporating task logic and duration to determine project critical path and float at task level
  • Engineering project management to ensure project is being executed to plan as well as scope and budget control
  • Project risk management and issues tracking / resolution
  • Initiate, plan, organize and conduct technical work in support of utility power plant applications
  • Carry out customers’ work and prepare reports and other deliverables in a timely manner with recommendations based on results achieved
  • Act as a project / technical support for Kinectrics dealing with projects carried out by Design Engineering & Sites
  • Develop, prepare and contribute to proposals for internal and external customers, including scope definition, cost estimation and project scheduling
  • Prepare design plan, project execution plans and other technical / project documents
  • Draft procedures for work to be executed in the field
  • Act as engineering lead in the field and work at client sites as required
  • Act as technical support for Project Managers, Service Line Leader, and Vice President
  • Assist and lead preparation of proposals / bids and marketing / selling technology / services of the business to ensure products remain viable and competitive
  • Participate in workshops and conferences to promote the capabilities of the business
  • Advocate for design quality and support innovation projects

What You Need To Succeed

  • A four-year university degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, and / or Electrical / I&C Engineering).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required in Project Engineering or Project Management
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards such as N299 and CSA N286. Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards including but not limited to CSA N285, ASME Section III, Section VIII and B31.1. ASME Section III Appendix XXIII qualification is considered an asset.
  • Must have Demonstrated technical writing experience with a strong focus on quality and schedule. Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports, proposals, recommendations, and presentations for internal and external clients.
  • Must have good working knowledge of basic generation plant design / operation related to nuclear power plants, Small Modular Reactors (SMR), skid-based designs, or international power projects
  • Must have Demonstrated knowledge of CANDU technology, strong understanding of nuclear power plant design and operation.
  • Must have experience with CANDU projects.
  • PMP certification would be considered an asset.
  • Must have experience with developing project schedules and interfacing with project management teams.
  • Proven ability to manage time and budgets on projects and to work on multiple projects in parallel.
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of advanced spreadsheets skills for effective data manipulation.
  • Existing Nuclear Security Clearance is an asset, it will be required for the position.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative to propose and implement new research and business ideas in the department.
  • Highly innovative and creative in seeking technical solutions to customer issues.
  • Proven skills with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong customer orientation and commitment to Kinectrics and business unit goals
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
