DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused individual for the position of Project Engineer. Success in this role depends on the ability to collaborate effectively with offshore and onshore personnel. The Intermediate Engineer will report to the Project Technical/Engineering Manager and will receive daily guidance on activities such as analyses, reports/document reviews, tendering, and design. Key Responsibilities
- Support DOF Subsea's core business initiatives and those of its clients, including Light Subsea Construction, Subsea Intervention, Decommissioning, Permanent Mooring Installation/Disconnection, Engineering Studies, and Tenders; including lift rigging design, lift planning, equipment sea fastening design, and installation analyses.
- Ensure the successful completion of assigned project phases within budget and schedule, adhering to company policies.
- Lead regional efforts to develop innovative solutions to client problems supporting core business activities.
- Support business development and tendering activities as required.
- Develop safe, practical, cost-effective, and innovative solutions to technical challenges.
- Promote a safety culture and system that minimizes risks to personnel, environment, and equipment to ALARP levels.
- Represent the company's values and reputation with staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Encourage open communication between engineering and operations teams.
- Work diligently to meet regional and departmental KPIs.
- Perform all responsibilities ethically and lawfully.
- Offshore work will be required.
- Perform other engineering duties as assigned, including secondments.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, Ocean & Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
- Basic Survival Training (BST) is an asset due to offshore work requirements.
- Progress towards or possession of a Professional Engineering license.
- 0-5 years of subsea project/installation engineering experience.
- Familiarity with procedural writing related to offshore ROV construction works.
- Experience with equipment System Integration Testing and functionality testing.
- Experience with project vessel mobilizations and demobilizations.
- Offshore field experience in subsea infrastructure installation and decommissioning.
- Knowledge of specialized software (e.g., Ansys, Inventor, Orcaflex) is an asset.
- Understanding of marine environment and project execution challenges.
- Knowledge of subsea infrastructure components and deployment/recovery methodologies.
- Knowledge of DNV lifting and underwater deployment/recovery codes.
- Analytical skills related to lowering analyses and rigging design are assets.
- General knowledge of sea fastening design, analysis, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Willingness to perform required work and share knowledge with team members.
