Senior Engineering Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

1. Technical Contribution: Plan and coordinate engineering activities for mine hoist projects involving drives, PLCs, MCCs, transformers, motors, etc. Prepare electrical schematics, equipment layouts, cable lists, and PLC programs. Participate in commissioning activities at customer sites.
2. People Leadership and Development: Assign tasks and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff within assigned projects.
3. Customer Interaction: Assist customers with technical issues, communicate with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within scope. Support communication related to specific assignments or meetings.
4. Project Management: Support Project Managers to deliver quality solutions per customer requirements, on time and within budget. Ensure safety standards are followed and risks are mitigated.
5. Planning and Control: Ensure quality deliverables are provided on time and within cost targets. Collaborate with other functions to improve work effectiveness.
6. Processes and Tools: Use standard processes and tools, ensure compliance with safety and contractual requirements, report inefficiencies, and suggest improvements.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer, member of OIQ or equivalent provincial association.
• Proficient in English and French; French is required, English for external communication.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of customer needs and relations.
• Ability to influence, build trust and credibility.
• Integrity and professionalism.
• Literate in computer and PLC programming.
• Mining industry experience is an asset.
