Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of electrical code of Canada and USA.
  • Experience with power converters and Energy Storage Systems.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in Saint-Laurent, Québec, Canada.

Are you interested in providing technical support for project execution and tendering in eMobility electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects? In this role, you will focus on DC charging solutions for electric buses, working on diverse technical solutions, including MV substations and power conversion equipment.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Overall technical responsibility for all engineering activities of the project or tender
  • System design for eMobility electric vehicle charging projects
  • Design & coordinate engineering works including primary & secondary (Layout, electrical schematic, connection diagram) engineering work packages, coordinate with internal & external partners and sub-suppliers
  • Collaborate with Sales & Tender management, Project Management, R&D, Project Site Installation & Commissioning team
  • Develop system architecture, sizing calculations, prepare specifications, check supplier’s offers & co-ordinate with Supply Chain Management for procurement of materials, equipment’s & Services
  • Provide technical support for tendering & Execution of Customer projects, and technical solutions
  • Technical review and discussion with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Understand requirement specifications, effectively translate them into concrete solutions and contribute with suggestions for optimization.
  • Lead & attend discussions with customers, handle site queries and take necessary actions
  • Collaborate with colleagues both locally and globally and close coordination with multiple disciplines (System Engineering and Civil Engineering)

Your background

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power electronics, Power system design, or electrical distribution.
  • >5 years of experience in power systems engineering, Medium Voltage substation design, Low Voltage AC & DC distribution
  • Knowledge of electrical code of Canada and USA including ANSI/IEEE
  • Experience with power converters applications, DC power supply projects for eMobility or Bus Depots, Energy Storage Systems, reactive power compensation solutions would be an asset
  • Proactive, result-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as reliability and ability to work under pressure
  • Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, including knowledge in BIM, AutoCAD system
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies
  • Ability to travel around 20% of the time for projects and meeting with Customers
  • Skilled communicator who can interface with numerous external and internal parties and stakeholders at all levels in a multi-cultural environment
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
  • Member of OIQ or any other province in Canada (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in manufacturing of engineered products in electrical sectors is an asset.

Asset

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Knowledge of SAE J3105, SAE J1772, OCPP
  • Knowledge of Revit and PSCAD
