Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada in Longueuil (with Mississauga options) is seeking a Project Engineer focused on Engineering Module/System IPT management. You will interface with Operations, Customer Support, and Marketing to drive design and program objectives.

The role requires a strong Engineering background, leadership experience, and willingness to travel. Fluency in English for technical communication is essential in a primarily French-speaking environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience or master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine engines acquired inside one or more Engineering disciplines.
  • Proven technical leadership.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Highly adaptable, able to adjust priorities based on latest information and reconcile differing opinions.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Self-starter committed to task closure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Anticipate future business opportunities and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel interplant and externally.
  • Flexibility with working hours.
  • Membership in Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec or professional engineers association is an asset.
  • This role operates in a French-speaking environment with good English reading/writing ability for documents and international communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to a multidisciplined team for an assigned engine module or system IPT.
  • Define and achieve product design requirements.
  • Effectively manage IPTs to meet program objectives with key stakeholders.
  • Lead design verification, validation, and certification activities for IPTs.
  • Meet program schedule and budget commitments.
  • Assist Program Directors/Managers as required.

The Elevate Project Management Team is looking for candidates for Project Engineer position, focused on Engineering Module / System Management, with customer interface opportunities.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil or Mississauga and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?
  • Provide overall leadership to a multidisciplined team for an assigned engine module or system IPT to:

  • Define and achieve product design requirements.

  • Effectively manage IPT’s in achieving Program objectives, including requirements from other key stakeholders such as Operations, Customer Support or Marketing.

  • Lead design verification, validation, and certification activities for IPT’s

  • Meet Program schedule and budget commitment.

  • Assist Program Director/Managers as required.

What do you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience or master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

  • Availability to travel (eventually), both interplant and externally.

  • Flexibility with working hours.

  • Being an active member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec or the association of Professional Engineers of Ontario would also be considered as an asset.

  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
