Location: Toronto, ON, CA

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) Manager in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical leadership and ATS engineering expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, fully integrated solutions that meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and Alstom’s engineering excellence standards. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including technical experts, test and commissioning teams), foster cross‑functional collaboration, and ensure compliance with engineering processes, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of leading ATS development strategies across participating units and managing technical dependencies, but also supporting the integration of the Supervision Control Center (SCC) system with the overall system.

We’ll look to you for:

Leading ATS development across the full engineering lifecycle, including software releases and data‑only baselines.

Driving technical alignment of architecture, design, and interfaces with customer requirements.

Ensuring requirements traceability and coverage using formal tools and methods.

Overseeing the creation of change requests and ensuring resolution of identified anomalies.

Managing and developing a team of ATS Architects, promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Providing technical leadership across integration, testing, commissioning, and warranty phases.

Representing validation and verification in front of customers, partners, suppliers, and assessors.

Ensuring compliance with Alstom engineering processes, cyber‑security requirements, and safety case regulations.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Significant experience in engineering management on complex technical projects.

Strong background in railway systems, particularly ATS.

Experience leading multi‑site engineering teams and working with customers in contractual or technical negotiations.

Expertise in software design, data preparation, integration, validation, and design governance.

Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS or equivalent).

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Familiarity with SCRUM frameworks and IBM ALM tools (EWM, ETM) or equivalent is a plus.

Resilience and adaptability to work in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
