Job summary

Carbon Engineering is seeking a Project Coordinator to support planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for the Technology Development Campus. You will collaborate with internal departments and external partners, traveling for site engagement and coordinating multiple deadlines.

Role requires 2–5 years in project coordination, a relevant engineering degree, and strong technical writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • BEng Mechanical, Chemical or other Engineering disciplines.
  • 2-5 years of project management or coordinator experience.
  • Experience with municipalities to obtain Occupancy Permit (Development Permit, Soil Management Permit, Building Permit & Site Servicing Agreements).
  • Experience on commercial & industrial developments from design to commissioning.
  • Experience in RFIs/RFQs and reviewing vendor docs, drawings, datasheets and specs.
  • Experience participating in and managing simultaneous operations (SIMOPs).
  • Experience in cost estimates, planning, scheduling, and construction of industrial plants or buildings.
  • Familiarity with scheduling (MS Projects) and Project Controls.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, equipment datasheets, HAZID, HAZOP and risk programs.

Responsibilities

  • Tenant Improvement – Direct & manage internal & consultant teams to execute Tenant Improvement installations.
  • Develop detailed scope, cost, schedule & execution strategies for CE TDC.
  • Manage, document & report monthly project status, scope changes, schedule, budget & risks.
  • Management of RFI replies.
  • Commissioning – Manage commissioning activities related to installations.
  • Identify, report, and resolve unsafe conditions and actions in the workplace.
  • Ensure safety incidents are reported and investigated per policy.
  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture and maintain a safe Innovation Centre.

Position Scope

As a Project Coordinator , you will be required to support planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities related to Carbon Engineering’s (CE’s) new Technology Development Campus (TDC). You will work with CE’s internal departments and external partners to fully deliver the scope assigned to you by the CE’s management team. You must be comfortable working independently or with a team towards multiple deadlines. Working from the office, home, and traveling to engage with customers, partners, and oversee their work is expected.

  • _ This job will be at multiple locations within Squamish, BC, with occasional travel outside of Squamish. _
  • This job is eligible for the flexible work program (9/80 schedule).
  • _ This job is a 12-month temporary position andwill be employed and paid through a 3rd party contractor. There is potential for extension. _
  • _ The pay for this role is $45-65/hr. _
    Technical
  • Tenant Improvement – Direct & manage internal & consultant teams to execute Tenant Improvement installations related to Operations, Maintenance, Lab, Warehouse, HSE, Electrical, IT, AV, Security & any other which management directs.
  • Develop detailed scope, cost, schedule & execution strategies for capital projects at CE TDC.
  • Manage, document & report monthly project status, scope changes, schedule, budget & project risks.
  • Management of RFI replies.
  • Commissioning – Manage commissioning activities related to the installations under your supervision.
  • Identify, report, and resolve unsafe conditions, processes, or actions within the workplace.
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
    Safety
  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture.
  • Maintain the Innovation Centre in a safe condition in line with all applicable regulations.
  • Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
  • Complete training curriculum on Bridge system.
    Education and Experience
Education
  • BEngin Mechanical, Chemical or other Engineering disciplines.
    Experience
  • 2-5 years of project management or coordinator experience.
  • Experience working with municipalities to meet the requirements to obtain an Occupancy Permit including but not limited to Development Permit, Soil Management Permit, Building Permit & Site Servicing Agreements.
  • Experience working on commercial & industrial developments from design to commissioning.
  • Experience in preparation and issue of RFIs/RFQs, as well as in reviewing vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specification, and calculations.
  • Experience participating in & managing simultaneous operations (SIMOPs).
  • Expertise in preparing cost estimates, planning, scheduling, and construction of industrial plants or buildings starting from front end engineering design and progressing through detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with scheduling (MS Projects) and Project Controls in general.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity in P&IDs, equipment datasheets, HAZID, HAZOP and other risk programs.
