Job summary

Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the Store Tech platform group, with emphasis on POS and in-store applications. You will develop program plans, engage executives and sponsors, and ensure governance and robust resource allocation across squads.

You will track KPIs, manage scope, schedule and budget changes, and guide teams through training to achieve consistent delivery across platforms.

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial management processes: budgeting, forecasting, accruals and variance analysis.
  • Experience delivering complex Store Tech initiatives across multiple platforms with stakeholder management.
  • Ability to define outcomes, MVPs, epics, user stories, releases and milestones.
  • Experience developing resource plans with globally distributed teams.
  • Proactive risk identification, assessment and mitigation, with escalation when needed.
  • Proficient in applying SAFe, Scrum or Kanban for agile delivery.
  • Understanding of end-to-end product lifecycle and delivering value-driven solutions.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration and empathy skills.
  • Proficient with Planview, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira Align, Lucid, Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis for program budgets.
  • Coordinate resources across multiple squads within the Store Tech program.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Monitor KPI progress and manage changes to scope, schedule and cost.
  • Establish governance, steering committees, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead training and guidance to ensure consistency across squads.

Job description

What you’ll do

Support a portfolio of work in the Store Tech platform group with a high focus on POS platforms and In Store Applications.

Develop a comprehensive program plan that defines the program’s objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.

Identify and engage stakeholders, including executives, Business sponsors, and team members.

Maintain regular communication to manage expectations, gather feedback, and ensure buy-in for program initiative.

Establish program governance structures, including steering committees or advisory boards, to provide oversight and guidance.

Coordinate and allocate resources across multiple squads within the program.

Identify and assess program risks.

Monitor the progress of squad delivery within the program, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones.

Oversee the management of changes in program scope, schedule, and budget.

Facilitate the closure of the program upon successful completion.

Training and guidance (Establish guidelines) to the team members across squads to establish consistency.

What you bring
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accruals, invoice processing, and variance analysis to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Store Tech: Experience delivering complex initiatives across multiple platforms as a key enabler team. Emphasis on In Store Applications, Key Stakeholder Relations, business/performance optimization.
  • Scope Management: Define project outcomes, MVPs, epics, user stories, releases, and milestones to align with business objectives.
  • Resource Management: Develop and manage resource plans leveraging FTEs and globally distributed partner resources to deliver on defined scope.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting scope, timeline, and budget; ensure timely escalation and communication.
  • Agile Delivery: Apply Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) to drive efficient and adaptive project execution.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage end-to-end product lifecycle to deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Soft Skills: Outcome-focused mindset, action orientation, critical thinking, problem solving, stakeholder management, effective communication, facilitation, collaboration, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
  • Technical Tools: Planview, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira/Jira Align, Lucid, Delivery Central, Confluence.

Our typical hiring range is between $80,000.00 and $131,000.00 per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. We’re committed to attracting top talent. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
