Job summary

Employee Benefit Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Project Coordinator to join the Quinte Detention Center project in Napanee, Ontario.

You will plan, organize, direct and control field work to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with the highest quality. The role requires 3–5 years in construction project coordination, mastery of MS Office and MS Project, strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work onsite daily.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of construction project coordination experience.
  • Master of MS Office and MS Project software.
  • Strong management, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Shows initiative and leadership.
  • Team player; ability to work onsite daily.
  • Resides locally in Napanee, Belleville, Trenton or Kingston is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Read technical and administrative specifications for the project.
  • Acquire necessary information from involved parties during submissions.
  • Obtain blueprints and compare them to bid plans.
  • Report changes to professionals and claim costs.
  • Read and understand prime contract terms to ensure compliance.
  • Draft notices for disputes, change orders and contractual claims.
  • Support cost accounting with budget tracking and financial documentation.
  • Obtain licenses and permits as needed.
  • Draft contracts, negotiate terms and award to subcontractors.
  • Develop and monitor CNESST prevention program on site.
  • Establish and monitor project schedule and critical path weekly.
  • Inform the superintendent and director of proposed methods.
  • Place orders for critical materials and prepare contract docs with construction manager.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings; maintain client rapport.

Come build the future with us! We are looking for a project coordinator to join our team on the Quinte Detention Center project in Napanee, Ontario. As a Project Coordinator, you will plan, organize, direct and control the work of construction sites to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Read the technical and administrative specifications of the project to be executed;
  • Acquire the necessary technical and administrative information from the persons involved during the submission;
  • Obtain blueprints and specifications for construction and compare them to bid plans;
  • Report changes to professionals and claim costs;
  • Read and understand prime contract terms, conditions, and requirements to ensure compliance throughout project execution;
  • Draft notices for disputes, change orders, and contractual claims as required
  • Support the project cost accountant with budget tracking, cost reporting, and financial documentation;
  • Obtain licenses and permits as needed for the execution of the work;
  • Draft contracts and agreements, negotiate terms and award them to subcontractors;
  • Develop the prevention program requested for CNESST and monitor it on site;
  • Establish the schedule (dates, main stages of construction, constraints, methodology) and / or the critical path of the project and monitor it weekly;
  • Inform the superintendent of the project and discuss with him and the director of the proposed methods;
  • Place orders for critical materials, negotiate prices and prepare contract documents, in collaboration with the construction manager, for subcontractors;
  • Coordinate and participate in various meetings;
  • Establish and maintain a professional and continuous positive rapport with the client, etc.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in construction project coordination;
  • Master of MS Office and MS Project software;
  • Strong management, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Shows initiative and leadership;
  • Team Player;
  • Must be able to work onsite daily;
  • Resides locally in Napanee, Belleville, Trenton or Kingston is considered an asset.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $60,000-$105,000 . Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
