Job summary

EBC Inc. is expanding its seasoned team of engineers, project managers and specialists to deliver major infrastructure projects across Canada.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will read technical specifications, inspect work, coordinate budget tracking, and ensure timely communication with suppliers, sub-contractors and clients. This role requires a post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 2–5 years of construction experience.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or similar.
  • 2–5 years of construction industry experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings.
  • Experience with scheduling and planning site activities.
  • Excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Cost analysis, control, and reporting.
  • Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills is required.

Responsibilities

  • Read technical and administrative project specifications.
  • Inspect work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards.
  • Inform the Project Manager of project development and discuss methods planned with site management.
  • Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent.
  • Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting.
  • Perform duties related to the cost control cycle throughout the project execution, including tracking budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure tracking of hours, expenses, costs, and budget updates.
  • Monitor changes and coordination with the project team.
  • Record and resolve issues related to project budgets and schedules.
  • Tabulate and format information into the client format for submission.
  • Ensure the quality of prepared project reports, executive summaries, and dashboards.
  • Perform duties related to document control, including formatting documentation and maintaining records according to cloud-based filing system.
  • Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts.
  • Organize and participate in various meetings.
  • Establish and keep necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals and client.
  • Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to project.

Job description

Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering program or similar, or a combination of technical training and/or related experience;
  • 2-5 years of industry experience;
  • Experience in construction industry (civil preferred);
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings;
  • Experience with scheduling and planning site activities;
  • Excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Cost analysis, control, and reporting;
  • Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $60,000 - $100,000 . Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity.
