Job summary

Airswift is partnering with a key Oil and Gas company to seek an experienced Project Controls / Cost Control Lead to support major projects in St. John’s, NL. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

The role focuses on cost control, forecasting, change management, performance reporting, and project controls governance. Offshore drilling campaign experience is highly valued for daily cost reporting and progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Approximately 15 years of Project Controls experience.
• Experience on major capital projects in Owner and/or EPC environments.
• Offshore project experience preferred; offshore drilling campaign experience is a significant asset.
• Experience with daily cost reporting, progress tracking, forecasting, change management, and contractor performance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Power BI knowledge preferred; SAP experience is an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, commitments, forecasts, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Perform cost variance, trend, and performance analysis.
• Prepare daily and periodic cost/progress reports during project execution.
• Maintain change logs and coordinate Project Change Notices (PCN).
• Evaluate cost and schedule impacts of project changes.
• Identify risks, issues, and cost deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Work across Engineering, Construction, Finance, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Project Management.
• Support project controls governance, quality requirements, and project closeout.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership and communication skills and can work effectively with project teams, contractors, and management. Offshore drilling campaign experience is highly valued, particularly involving daily cost reporting, progress tracking, and execution monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, commitments, forecasts, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Perform cost variance, trend, and performance analysis.
• Prepare daily and periodic cost/progress reports during project execution.
• Maintain change logs and coordinate Project Change Notices (PCN).
• Evaluate cost and schedule impacts of project changes.

Working Conditions

• Location: St. John’s, NL (successful candidates must be local to NL)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
• Work arrangement: 100% office-based, no hybrid or remote option
