Ontario Power Generation Inc. is seeking a dynamic Project & Control Engineer/Officer in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.

The role focuses on leading scheduling, cost management, forecasting, and reporting for major hydroelectric projects, driving data-driven decisions across engineering, construction, and finance teams. The fixed-term position (up to 24 months) requires a 4-year degree, 6–8 years of experience in project controls, and proficiency with Primavera P6 and Excel.

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP designation is preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in project management or project controls in large, complex projects (Nuclear, Hydro, or Thermal).
• Advanced skills with Primavera P6 for planning and scheduling.
• Expert-level Excel with reporting, dashboards, and BI tool usage.
• Knowledge of project controls: planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management.
• Experience with engineering/construction management practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and management of project schedules and budgets using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Support Front-End Planning: scope definition, risk assessments, estimating, planning workshops.
• Monitor project performance with cost/schedule updates, variance analysis, and forecasts.
• Maintain baselines and manage changes to reflect approved scope.
• Create dashboards and reports using Excel and BI tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, finance, and external contractors to align forecasts.
• Support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
