Job summary

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic Assistant Project Leader to support successful project delivery under the Manager, Projects. The role involves coordinating project packages, assisting with planning, scheduling, cost control, and governance adherence across multidisciplinary portfolios.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year university degree, preferably in Engineering, Finance, Business or Economics.
• Minimum of two years of related experience supporting project management, project controls, or project delivery activities.
• Strong understanding of project controls including scheduling, cost management, risk management, resource planning, and performance tracking.
• Experience reviewing project requirements, preparing cost estimates and supporting RFQ processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Power BI for dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities

• Support the coordination and control of assigned projects through stages of project management.
• Assist with phase-gating, integration, scope, schedule, cost, change control, estimating, communications, reporting, and risk management.
• Support planning and delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction activities to meet safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets.
• Prepare business case submissions, project approvals, funding requests, and planning inputs for senior management.
• Monitor and report on project performance, including cost, schedule, variances, risks, and actions.
• Maintain communication with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
