We provide smart and practical project solutions to clients in the metals and minerals, energy and renewables, fiber and chemicals, and infrastructure sectors. With offices across Canada, and into the US and Mexico, we continue to grow!

Our team is our most valuable asset, and a triple bottom line (TBL) philosophy is at the heart of our business. It takes a talented, motivated and empowered team to delight our clients, driving profitability for all parties. When it comes to guiding principles, safety is part of our DNA, we are committed to building and nurturing Indigenous relationships, we support our communities, and we recognize the importance of environmental stewardship.

Our Ideal Candidate

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the Project Managers and project teams. Your primary focus will be resource forecasting and planning, scheduling, and implementing standardized project controls processes. This includes cost tracking, earned value management (EVM), schedule variance analysis, forecasting, risk assessment, project reporting, and quality KPI tracking. As a member of the team, you will be given opportunities to apply your education and experience on complex projects. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities and projects, meet tight deadlines, and ensure successful project execution.

A Day in the Life

As a Project Controller, you will work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will support the PMs in decision-making by providing accurate financial analysis, schedule insights, and risk assessments. Your role will be integral to maintaining project health, identifying potential issues early, and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track. This collaboration is key to ensuring successful project execution and continuous improvement in project performance.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or a related role in the engineering consulting industry.
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • High Level understanding of project scheduling principles including critical path method, proper use of predecessors and successors as well as overall project scheduling methodology.
  • Experience with ERP systems (BST10 preferred) for project cost tracking and reporting.
  • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) principles, including cost performance index (CPI) and schedule performance index (SPI).
  • Understanding of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and how they apply to scheduling and cost tracking.
  • Experience in monitoring project progress, identifying risks and delays, and applying corrective actions.
  • Ability to generate project status reports, conduct schedule variance and cost variance analysis, and provide financial tracking.
  • Experience with trend analysis and forecasting to support project decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy in reporting and data tracking.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • A PMP designation is an asset.
  • Adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as the role requires continuous interaction with team members in multiple geographical locations.
What’s in it for you?

We believe that a happy and fulfilled team leads to exceptional results, which is why we offer a range of perks designed to support your well-being, career growth and community engagement.

  • Work schedule and location are flexible, allowing for better work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage and RRSP matching.
  • Employee Assistance Program for team members and their families.
  • A culture of respect and inclusivity fosters long term relationships and a team atmosphere.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities.
  • Team Member Referral Program.
  • Monthly “Lunch & Learn” sessions.
  • Opportunities to bond with other team members, have fun and make a difference through involvement in social and safety committees, as well as fundraising and community support initiatives (e.g. Movember, Pi Day, Food Banks, Women’s Shelters, Ronald McDonald House, Earth Day clean ups, etc.).
