Job summary

Alstom in Toronto, ON is seeking a full-time onsite Project Contract Manager to safeguard interests and drive successful project execution by coordinating contract and claims strategies throughout the lifecycle.

You will work with Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure governance, introduce best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical fields, Economics, or Business.
  • Experience with contract management activities including claims and EoTs.
  • Knowledge of international markets and large-scale projects, preferably rail or infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with project financials and their relation to contract/claim management.
  • Proficient in English with strong written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Contract Management activities ensuring compliance and conformance by Alstom and the project team.
  • Apply proactive Contract Management practices to safeguard Alstom’s interests.
  • Ensure application of the CCIM and Alstom governance, raising alerts for non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with the Project Core Team to prepare and contribute to Contract/Claims Management Strategy Plan.
  • Organize and lead Contract Management Initiatives with the Project Core Team.
  • Analyze contracts to maintain Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plan and review quarterly.
  • Monitor progress toward contractual obligations and milestones, issue notices timely.
  • Develop and monitor claims strategies aligned with contractual terms.

"Take on a new challenge and apply your contract and claims management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Alstom’s interests and driving the successful execution of projects by preparing, coordinating, and managing contract and claims strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations), ensure compliance with Alstom’s governance and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives—and much more."

We’ll look to you for:

Driving Contract Management activities, ensuring compliance and conformance by Alstom and the project team. ,

Applying proactive Contract Management practices to safeguard Alstom’s interests. ,

Ensuring application of the CCIM (Contracts, Claims and Insurance Management Manual) and Alstom governance, raising alerts when non-conformities are identified. ,

Collaborating with the Project Core Team to prepare and contribute to the Contract/Claims Management Strategy Plan, including deployment of appropriate tools and best practices. ,

Organizing and leading Contract Management Initiatives with the Project Core Team. ,

Analyzing contracts to develop and maintain the Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plan, reviewing it quarterly with the project team. ,

Monitoring project progress toward contractual obligations and milestones, ensuring timely issuance of contractual notices to customers and partners. ,

Developing and monitoring claims strategies in line with contractual terms and business goals. ,

Establishing, implementing, and maintaining commercial/claims procedures related to correspondence, notifications, insurance, delays, variations, and claim documentation. ,

Managing and analyzing incoming and outgoing correspondence with customers and partners, ensuring reliable filing and easy access to records."

Experience or understanding of contract management activities, including claims, variations, and extensions of time (EoTs). ,

Knowledge of international markets and operational processes in large-scale projects, preferably in the rail or infrastructure sectors. ,

Familiarity with project financials and their relationship to contract/claim management. ,

Advanced proficiency in English and strong written communication skills. ,

Ability to interpret and enforce contract terms and conditions. ,

Proficiency with Contract Management systems, Project Management software, and Microsoft Office tools. ,

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex, variable situations. ,

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate with precision and transparency. ,
