Are you an experienced and results-driven Project Accountant? Our client is looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join their team and take on a pivotal role in the Finance department. You will be assigned a selection of construction projects to administer and will provide support to those Project teams, while working closely with other members of the Finance team.

Responsibilities :

• Support a portfolio of projects and teams on project financials as assigned by the Finance Controller
• Meet specific timelines for issuing client progress billings monthly or as needed
• Review project budgets and fee structures to ensure accuracy of work in progress
• Manage vendor invoices for assigned projects
• Prepare pre-billing reports for Project Managers to review
• Work with trades and suppliers on project invoicing, holdback releases and associated documentation
• Process holdback reconciliations for release of trade holdback payments
• Ensure project close out procedures are completed timely; complete project filing as needed
• Process and prepare accounts payable payments for assigned jobs as needed / directed
• Provide excellent customer service while providing quality of work that consistently meets expectations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Project Managers, Coordinators, and other members of the finance team
• Ensure all assigned functions are carried out in compliance with approved policies, controls and standard practices

Qualifications :

• General accounting knowledge obtained through experience and / or education
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, business or other related field, and / or;
• 5 years of applicable experience
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Possess and maintain intermediate to advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and current accounting software (Spectrum by Viewpoint an asset but not required).
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of deliverables, and / or when to escalate concerns or issues

• Salary range : $65,000 - $95,000 (flexible based on experience)
