Qualifications

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will join the Finance group, based in the Burnaby office reporting to the Vice President of Finance.


What a day at EXP has in store for you

  1. Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Sector Leads, regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billing
  2. Set up projects in Deltek and maintain budgets and backlogs throughout the life of the project
  3. Prepare final invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup
  4. Mail final invoices, file client invoice copies and backup documents in the billing folder
  5. Assess and pursue opportunities for maximization of client billing; communicate with the parties involved as to your observations and actions taken
  6. Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period
  7. Maintain the billing folders for all projects, with all the appropriate documents; contracts, change orders and monthly invoices, in accordance with standard processes and procedures
  8. Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
  9. Carry out Progress Project Reports
  10. Provide the accounts payable team members with advice on client billing, relative to consultant invoicing and reimbursable expenses. It is expected that the Biller maintain a continuous line of communication to clear any open issues
  11. Work with the cash receipts team members to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash
  12. Work with accounts receivables team members regarding unpaid project billings
  13. Write off any uncollectible receivables, labour or expenses, as directed by the appropriate person
  14. Close out projects upon completion
  15. Prepare special project analyses for the Sector Leads, PMs and Billing Management
  16. Compile information for internal and external audits, as required
  17. Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Billing Manager
  18. Communicate and coordinate with the local offices

What your experience looks like

  1. University degree in accounting or a related field
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of Accounting (AP/AR/Billing) knowledge
  3. Enrolled in CPA program is an asset
  4. Understands revenue recognition
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Self-motivated with independent work habits
  8. High attention to detail and accuracy
  9. Experience working in a fast-paced office and deadline oriented
  10. Working knowledge of Deltek Vision software is a definite asset.

The salary range for this role is between $75,000 to $80,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
