Job summary

Generations Toronto, a not-for-profit intergenerational community campus in Ontario, seeks a Program Support Services Manager to coordinate and schedule recreation programs for residents of the 122-bed long-term care home.

The role supports resident documentation, care planning, volunteer coordination, and spiritual activities, with a salary of $55,000–$65,000 per year. A related degree is required.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as kinesiology or gerontology.
• Provincial safe food handling certification; a volunteer management certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule programs that meet residents' physical, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Maintain a calendar of recreational and social activities reflecting residents' interests and cultural diversity.
• Coordinate/facilitate recreation programs, special events, outings, and entertainment.
• Coordinate the Volunteer Program including student and co-op placements.
• Coordinate religious and spiritual program opportunities.
• Respond to resident or family concerns and escalate as needed.

Education

Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Kinesiology or Gerontology

Provincial Safe Food Handling Certification

Volunteer Management Certification (preferred)

AgeCare has been appointed as the manager of the Generations Toronto long-term care home and is recruiting the Program Support Services Manager on behalf of Generations Toronto.The Opportunity:The Program Support Services Manager is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of programs that provide a variety of meaningful activities to meet the physical, psychological, social, emotional and/or spiritual needs of residents.What Is In It For You:• Supports Resident Documentation Requirements including Resident Assessment/Re-assessment, Care Planning, MDS Coding, and Progress Notes.• Supports resident and family councils.• Maintains a calendar of recreational & social activities that support the interests, needs and cultural diversity of residents.• Coordinates/facilitates recreation programs, special events, outings & entertainment.• Coordinates the Volunteer Program including student and co-op placements.• Coordinates religious and spiritual program opportunities.• Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Administrator.What You Will Need• A post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Kinesiology or Gerontology and related experience specific to providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors.• Provincial certification for safe food handling.• Certificate in Volunteer Management is preferred.Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearSalary placement based on qualifications and experience.This job posting is for an active, open position, and all applications are reviewed by our team without the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
