Town of Okotoks is seeking a Sport and Fitness Programs Leader to join our Recreation & Programs team on a casual/on-call basis. You will deliver safe and engaging recreation experiences across skating, basketball, soccer, badminton, group fitness, coaching, and active living programs for all ages.

Hours vary based on program needs and seasonal demand, with shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. This non-permanent role is on-site at our community facilities.

Qualifications

  • Education, certification, or training in sport, recreation, kinesiology, fitness leadership, group fitness, coaching, physical literacy, or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • High school diploma.
  • Previous related experience leading sport, group fitness, coaching, recreation, or active living programs for children, youth, adults, or community groups.
  • Intermediate first aid certification is required

Job description

We have an exciting casual/on-call opportunity for a highly motivated Sport and Fitness Programs Leader to join our Recreation & Programs team.

Reporting to the Programs Team Leader, a Programs Leader - Sport and Fitness will provide casual/on-call support for the delivery of safe, inclusive, and engaging recreation experiences across a variety of program for participants of all ages. Program areas may include skating, basketball, soccer, badminton, group fitness, wellness, coaching, active living opportunities, and more. Hours will vary based on program needs, staff coverage, and seasonal demand.
