Job summary

The City of St. Albert is seeking an Exercise and Wellness Specialist to join the Recreation and Parks team. You will deliver fitness services, supervise the fitness area, and provide orientations and goal-setting sessions to members at the Fitness and Wellness Centre.

Reporting to the Floor Services Coordinator, you will also lead group fitness classes and personal training. A positive, people-focused approach and commitment to professional development are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and three years of experience is a minimum.
• A degree or diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field is preferred.
• Direct experience in customer service or fitness facility environment is an asset.
• CSEP-CPT, NSCA-CSCS or equivalent certifications are preferred.
• AFLCA or equivalent group exercise certification would be an asset.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification is required, prior to hire.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience with a membership management database is an asset.

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Exercise and Wellness Specialist. Reporting to the Floor Services Coordinator, this position will be responsible for providing exceptional front-line customer service and program/fitness service delivery to guests of the Fitness and Wellness Centre.

Hours of Work

• Monday – Friday 5:15 a.m. – 9:45 p.m.
• Saturday, Sunday and Holidays - 6:15 a.m. – 9:45 p.m.
• 5 - 20 hours per week, depending on availability

Term

This is a casual position with 5-20 hours per week, depending on availability.

Compensation

• The wage ranges from $22.08 - $26.88 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
