Job summary

AVI-SPL in Montreal seeks an experienced AV Control Programmer to design and implement control system software for integrated AV systems. You will read drawings, gather requirements, develop modules, and ensure UI and control software meet project specs.

Travel to job sites is mandatory and mentorship of junior programmers is expected. The role requires hands-on experience with Crestron/AMX/Extron and proficiency in debugging embedded systems, with a focus on commissioning, testing, and client

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A four-year degree is preferred.
• CTS certification is a plus.
• CTI-P101 or AMX Control Programmer training is an asset.
• Two years’ experience as an AVI-SPL Jr. Programmer or three years similar experience outside of AVI-SPL.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• User Interface programming to meet requirements and system capabilities
• Install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely in physical systems

• Demonstrate completed system to client
• Create programming-related documentation

• Proficient with test and calibration equipment
• Proficient in programming languages
• Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems

• Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues
• Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems
• Advanced computer skills for the design, configuration, optimization and operations of AV equipment
• Understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting a plus
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean Driver's Abstract that meets AVI-SPL driving standards

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Four year degree preferred
• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) a plus
• CTI-P101 or AMX Control Programmer 1 training
• Two years’ experience as an AVI-SPL Jr. Programmer or three years similar experience outside of AVI-SPL
