Job summary

Solotech in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Programmer to create and modify AV system software for integrated Audio Video Systems, translating requirements into functional interfaces and control code. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders and work with hardware and software platforms to deliver robust capabilities.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, demonstrating systems to clients, creating control modules, commissioning and testing code, troubleshooting, and documenting procedures.

Qualifications

• College degree in electronics or AV preferred.
• CTS certification is desirable.
• 3+ years as programmer or installation technician in the AV industry.
• Experience with enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Teams, Meet, etc.).
• Proficient in LUA and C# would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Read AV system drawings and verify against installed systems.
• Demonstrate completed systems to clients and verify requirements.
• Create new control modules, control code and user interfaces.
• Commission and test code; troubleshoot as needed.

As a Programmer, you will create and modify AV system software for integrated Audio Video Systems by converting requirements into a functional user interface and control code. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with key stakeholders to meet unique requirements and work with hardware and software systems and platforms to deliver a system with robust capabilities. You will also install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely.

Your day will look like this:

• Read and interpret AV systems drawings.
• Demonstrate completed system to clients, answering all questions and ensure the systems meet the client’s requirements.
• Create new control modules, control code and user interfaces.
• Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of code.
• Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as needed.
• Create end-user and programming-related documentation.
• Maintain and update programming code in installed systems.
• Maintain control code in version control repository
• Manage projects using dev-ops platform to track issues, deploy releases and collaborate.
• Travel to various job sites required.
• Other duties as assigned

Your profile:

• College degree in electronics or similar field, audiovisual, computer or other relevant training or work experience is desired.
• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) is desired.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a programmer or installation technician in the audiovisual industry is desired.
• Experience with QSC, Crestron, AMX, Biamp, Polycom, etc. control and video conference systems programming.
• Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence etc.) – both hardware and software
• Excellent communication skills with employees, clients, and colleagues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and independently.
• Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems.
• Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.
• Advanced computer skills for the design, configuration, optimization, and operations of AV equipment
• Understanding of computer networking, firewalls, IT systems, and troubleshooting those systems
• Proficient knowledge in LUA scripting, C sharp would be an asset.
• Exceptional organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Flexible schedule with being available during evenings and weekends, on occasion.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.

Work Requirements:

• Time will be spent in an office and construction site setting.
• Flexible work hours to support operations.
• Typical workweeks standard 40 hours but may also include overtime as needed.
• Environment may be fast paced.
• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company driving standards.
• Travel within the continental US required
