As aProgram Supervisor, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care. You will oversee day-to-day program operations, supervise frontline staff, and support the implementation of services aligned with our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight
- Monitor and coordinate the implementation of foster care and youth-focused programs to ensure compliance with agency policies, standards, and applicable legislation.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs that enhance attachment security, resilience, and physical/emotional safety for children and youth in care.
Staff Supervision
- Provide leadership and supervision to program staff, including child and youth care practitioners, caseworkers, and support teams.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set professional development goals, and facilitate ongoing training aligned with agency objectives.
Client-Centered Support
- Ensure children, youth, and families receive individualized, culturally sensitive care.
- Act as a resource and advocate for youth in care, addressing their unique needs, including behavioral, mental health, and emotional support.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop program schedules, assign workloads, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Collaboration and Communication
- Foster partnerships with community agencies, schools, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
- Represent our company in meetings, conferences, and other forums to advocate for children and youth in care.
Crisis Management
- Provide guidance and support during crises, ensuring staff and client safety.
- Implement de-escalation strategies and behavior modification techniques as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in child and youth care or foster care services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, behavior modification techniques, and child/youth development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including child welfare laws and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Crisis Intervention or Behavior Management (e.g., UMAB).
- Experience with mental health challenges such as ADHD, autism, and behavioral disorders.
- Proficiency in case management software and reporting tools.
